SEAL MONITORING

Well, we had to miss our first seal monitoring date due to bad weather, but we made the next three scheduled outings.

Our first watch found nothing, just rumors that the seals had been there but were frightened off by the crowd. It was a bitter cold day so it wasn’t all that enjoyable, especially with the absence of seals.

Our second outing was much more fruitful. We spotted several seals at all three locations. The day was much better than the first. The weather was also more agreeable and made the monitoring less of a chore. I will include some pictures of what we saw below.

The third outing wasn’t as fruitful as the second for seal spotting, but it was an absolutely gorgeous day and well worth the trip to the beach. We enjoyed the sunshine and had a relaxing day viewing the ocean. We also had the opportunity to spot a Golden Eagle as he swooped in and landed on the horizon. What a beautiful sight!

HORSESHOE CRAB MONITORING will begin soon. They’ve already put up the schedule. We’re looking forward to it!

Art has been a part of my life since childhood. It is my passion! I have been drawing since the day I could hold a pencil. Wildlife and human characters are my focal points. I am drawn to them by their expression and personality. I try to connect with a subject through their eyes. I believe the eyes are the window to the soul and it is my desire to reflect the soul in my artwork. I am very attentive to detail, wanting to capture the deep, unchanging features of a character. The world is so full of diverse characters in different walks of life, and I long to capture them all on paper. I have a tendency to become absorbed in my work, pouring myself into each piece. It is my desire to create bold and expressive pieces that demand a viewer’s attention.
